This is site researching project curated Insa Art space 2006.
Wonseo-dong was originally called Wondong. When the Japanese occupied the country, Changgyeonggung (palace) was degraded to Changgyeongwon (garden). And the village was called ‘Wonseo-dong’, as it was located on the westside of Changgyeongwon. This work departed from previous private single work through working as a team, trying to listen and convey the ideas and thoughts of local residents about their village. This work aims to convey from an architectural perspective the local houses, which went through autogeneous and historic transitions.
